Kindle Sales 4X Greater Than Last Year

Kindle Fire 400x

A new press release sent out by Amazon notes how substantial their sales were this year compared to last year, with the company selling quite a hefty number of Kindles this year compared to last.

According to their press release, the Kindle Fire was the best selling product of Amazon for the past eight weeks since its introduction. It also appears that busy shoppers found the Kindle to be a great buy as customers purchased four times as many Kindles this year as they did last Black Friday.

Amazon Kindle VP David Limp admits the the feat was made possible by some Amazon shoppers purchasing more than one Kindle, presumably either for themselves or as gifts. Amazon expects this trend to continue throughout the shopping season, which will only get busier closer to the December holidays.
