If you’ve been using your Kindle Fire well, you may have noticed that the number of apps available for users in the Amazon Appstore isn’t as large as the one in the Android Market. While you may not have direct access to specific Android apps through your Kindle Fire, there’s a way to still get them on the tablet through a process known as sideloading.
Over on Tested, Ryan Whitwam has posted a guide to equipping your Kindle Fire with the apps you want without too much trouble through sideloading. It’s a great read if there’s something you want to add to your Kindle Fire that you can’t find over on the Amazon Appstore.
Whitwam notes, however, that the sideloading process works only with a limited subset of apps. According to the article, paid apps from the Android Market don’t work properly, and getting apps which use features that the Kindle Fire doesn’t have also causes errors to occur. For loading free, non Amazon Appstore apps, however, you should be fine.
