The folks developing custom Android versions for the Kindle Fire are certainly hard at work. The MIUI Team has released MIUI 4.0, a custom version of Android for the Kindle Fire that’s based on Android 4.0.
The MIUI 4.0 is shorthand for its much longer name, MIUI 4.0.3.2.2.3, and it’s basically got a lot of the functionality of Android 4.0 in it already, including a spiffy user interface that doesn’t need buttons. It also comes with its own extras, such as a custom home screen that holds your apps, a refined system panel, and its own small suite of custom applications such as a file browser and backup utility.
Instructions for installation can be found at Liliputing, and more information is available through MIUI Team’s website, which are both linked below.
