Lawrence Block’s Not Comin’ Home to You is a bit of a disturbing read, unless you’re an avid fan of crime fiction. Patterned somewhat after the Starkweather-Fugate murders in the late 1950s, this book tells the story of Jimmie John Hall and Betty Dienhardt as they make their way cross-country, killing quite a few people along their way to get by. Somehow you know this will end badly for them but their journey, blood-soaked as it is, is as engrossing as the their inevitable final destination.
